I could be wrong, but isn't this nomenclature=
1,4-Methylheptane
I thought this becaue the longest chain has seven carbons, the
two substituents are the methyl groups (the farthest on the left and the
first in from the right), you start counting at the side with the closest
substituent to the end, which is the right, making the methyl groups 1
and 4. (It appears to have only six carbons in a chain and both a methyl
and ethyl group as substituents, but you have to look at it more
closely and find the longest chain possible.) I hope this is right, and if
I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
