Got another ol' question for you fellow organicers:
On page 439, in the beginning of section 10.14, the book says that
the order of reactivity of alcohols is "3<2<1>methyl". Is the last sign a
typo, meaning it should read 3<2<1<methyl? And, if not, can someone
please explain to me why, and how it would read then (like, is methyl
greater than all of them?). Thanks a lot!
