I don't know if anyone responded to your question, and I know it is a
little late, but maybe you can use it for the final.

I think it is 1-methoxy-3-methyl butene, like your first guess. (The C
group where the -0CH3 is attached only has 3 bonds in your picture. If
that was a mistake then it would be 1-methoxy-3-metheyl butane like you
said.) There is an example of this type of nomenclature on page 417.
