H NMR Multiplets

I was freaking over learning the rationale behind H-NMR splitting
and a friend found a kind of "shortcut." When looking at a multiplet,
don't count the peaks, but the VALLEYS instead. Why?
Because 1 proton will "fit" into each valley of the multiplet and
this way it's easier to figure how many protons you're dealing with.
DISCALIMER: I'm not sure if this is a recommended method but so far it's
worked great for me!
