The "D" stands for deutrium, or in other words, a hydrogen atom
with a mass number of two. Deutrium is in low relatively abundance in
nature (since the average of the mass numbers for hydrogen atoms based on
realtive abundance is about 1.00097 amu --using C12 as the standard). In
working the problem, treat the "D" as though it was a regular hydrogen
