If you have the option of using either LiAlH4 or NaBH4 to reduce a
molecule, you would usually use NaBH4 because is reacts less violently
than LiAlH4. LiAlH4 can ignite fairly easily and so NaBH4 is usually used
whenever possible. I hope that clears things up for ya.
