Last names A-F should report to the Open Lab in Rieke. The rest of the
class should go to Ingram. The exams will be available at 7:30.
The exam is mostly comprehensive. There will be a few questions that draw
on chapter 11 information solely, but most of it will draw on things from
the entire semester (including chapter 11). As you realize now, all of
the simpler or isolated concepts presented early in the course have been
used to lay a foundation for later understanding of reactions and
mechanisms. On all exams I always try to provide a breadth of questions
that allow responses to be possible from levels of lesser understanding
all the way up to the most sophisticated understanding. My goal has been
to allow everyone the opportunity to show what they know while also
challenging students with the best understanding.
Let me take this opportunity to wish you all productive study time and
calm nerves. I recommend you do whatever works for you to have a calm and
collected mind. Sleep is one of those things worth making time for.
So, good luck on this and all of your final exams. Your hard work has not
gone unnoticed. See you Monday.
