I think that everone has there own rule of thumb, but I will tell
you mine. I know that any compound a vinly, termanal triple bond, or
nitrogen (ie anamine or amide group) will be basic. A carboxylic group is
the (weak acid). And the halides acid are the strongest. This is how I
remember the relative pk's. I hope this will help.-Marin
