the "iso" should be taken into account when arranging the
substituents alphabetically. refer to pg. 133 of the text:
....you should disregard stucture-defining prefixes that separated from the
name by a hyphen (such as sec- or tert-).
Therefore, tert-butyl precedes ethyl, but ethyl precedes isobutyl.
