What probably happend is that when you were distillating the cloves they
started to decompose thermally, causing the yellowish color to appear.
That is what happend with my lab too. I probably heated the cloves too
quickly. I was told by Prof. Nesset that it wouldn't make to much of a
difference in your results so don't worry.
