isopren units

I know several other people already answered the question about isoprene
units but I thought I'd add my two cents. Pages 1103-4 of Solomons give
some really good examples of isoprene units. I agree that there are two
in the carvone molecule but I wouldn't call them 5 carbon chains. They
usually show up as 4 carbon chains with a substituent (kind of a split
tail). Double bonds are ignored.
